15 year old KILLS 7 year old girl to feed gaming habit.
Sick and twisted title right? But its true. A 15 year old teenager killed a 7 year old girl to steal her earrings so he could pay to use the internet cafe and play games. Disgusting init? i dunno whats wrong with human beings these days. [Read article here].
But what really irritated me about this article was this paragraph. Let me dissect it for you.
Elizabeth Woolley, who set up Online Gamers Anonymous after her son Shawn committed suicide because of his addiction to online games, said it was time governments stepped in and did something about the ever-growing habit. Erm…What has the government got to do with YOUR child’s’ gaming addiction? Oh yeah, the government provided the PS3 and X-box, and money to buy games didn’t they? Kmt don’t vex me please.
“Until governments around the world recognise it’s a problem, it’s just going to keep getting worse and worse in terms of murders and crimes caused by excessive and obsessive online game play,” she said. Again, the government has WHAT to do with YOUR childs obsession? Your child sits upstairs all day after school and all night playing games in your house, how can the government stop this? Are you not capable of taking away the consoles, disciplining your kids and taking away their means of finance to purchase these games? Cos the government is not giving your kids the money yano (unless your on benefits, but you shouldn’t even be spending that money on games anyway!). I don’t understand how the government can control the way in which your child is exposed and ALLOWED to play games to such an excessive amount. Please, enlighten me. What can they do?
“It’s exactly like drugs or alcohol – once people get addicted, they feel they have to have it. There are always certain people who will get addicted to a drug, and in gaming we estimate it’s about 20% to 30% of people.” The difference with drugs and alcohol is the fact that these substances contain chemicals which makes the user addicted to them. What chemical is being released through controller pads and keyboards please? I’ve played games before, and I have never been addicted to them so much that it was my life (OK, fair enough i was addicted to The Sims [who isn't though?] and dreamt about it, but that’s besides the point. I didn’t blame the government for it neither did my parents.)
As a parent, if you see your child is becoming far too dependant on their gaming life, TAKE IT AWAY. Its not that hard. How can they play games without the console? How can they play games when they are grounded and not allowed to go out and play games at friends houses/arcades/internet cafes? How can they play games if they don’t have money? Don’t try and blame the government, they do not hold your hand and your childs hand through life. Accept the responsibility of being a parent and do something about it. Stop waiting for the government to put restrictions on your child when you can do it yourself. Silly muggles.

Forget Dogs, Mobile Phones is a mans best friend…
If you read my previous moaning, i mean post, on mobile phones, you will know that i am currently on a search for a new one.
So i ordered a new phone, the HTC Touch Pro2…(unfortunately the handset i recieved was faulty so i had to return it =/)

It is actually one of the most amazing phones i have ever had in my hand. However, its just a mini laptop. It had Word, powerpoint, internet explorer, a stock market app (do i even know how to use that) and a million other things on it i know i would NEVER use. As to why a phone needs to have everything on it i’m not too sure. The best phones available at the moment are all smart phones. They do everything your phone doesn’t need to do.
Our lives are slowly beginning to revolve around our phones. Have you ever left your house without your phone? And if you accidentally leave it, doesn’t it feel like you can’t quite function without it? And god forbid if you lost it! (I cried when my cousin lost my phone. My heart was broken for a bout 3 weeks until i got a new one!) Anyway, with these new apps and social networking, we need our phones for EVERYTHING. From shopping lists, birthday reminders, finding out the latest news to measuring your sleep patterns (some ridiculous Iphone App i was told about). The fact is majority of us cannot live without our beloved companions.
With the popularity of the “only two phones in the world” it feels like i HAVE to have one. I feel pressured into purchasing a FilthBerry (not an iphone because of my dislike of pure touch screen phones), however because i am ridiculously stubborn, i doubt i will ever get one, my pride wont let me. But it feels like thats the only option. Choosing a mobile phone is incredibly difficult if you want a good phone, but don’t want to fall into the trap of the bait phones.
The contestants for potential phones are…
My Beloved HTC Touch Pro2 (see above)
Nokia N97 – (i’ve never been a fan of nokias since my 3410, but hmm maybe)
Or the FilthBerry 8520

If you would like to assist me in my decision (basically encourage me to stick to my guns and NOT get the filthberry), or perhaps suggest another phone (qwerty keyboards only) Leave your comments please. Because i am incapable of making my own mobile phone decisions =/

So Apparently Only Two Phones Exist Now…
So I’ve been on the search for a new phone for a few months now that i’m cancelling my contract (with dyam Teef-Mobile). And i have been asking for suggestions on what good phones i could buy, i’ve asked friends, and people in phone shops, and the first two phones they suggest….BLACKBERRY and IPHONE….

In todays society, these are actually the only two phones left, you either have a blackberry, or an iphone. And if you don’t have either people are like “hurry up and get a blackberry/iphone”…Well i dunno about YOU guys, but i’m NOT going to buy something just because everyone else has one. I think at least 70% of blackberry owners have one because everyone else has one not because itss necessarily a good phone.
And now all other phones are justs replicating the blackberry and the iPhone. So why should i buy a phone thats just a replica?? I might aswell just get the real thing init kmt.
(fake berry)
(fake Iphone)
I would just like to purchase a phone, one that calls and texts. It doesn’t need to be my camera, camcorder, music player, diary, sat nav. I don’t need to be able to talk to you on Twitter, Facebook and on instant messenger. Sorry, i do NOT need that much communication with you, you might aswell just move into my house! I don’t need to be able slide the clock around my front screen, and i dont even need my phone to replicate a laptop with a qwerty keyboard!
I would like a phone with buttons 0-9 the # and * button, call and decline button and a menu button. I sound old, but i don’t even care, if it wernt for the fact that my beloved Sony Ericsson W810i is broken i would have probably kept that phone the REST of my life.

And the cheek is, with all this new technology…does any of these phones even have Snake on it?…

Natural Beauty & Airbrushing Pt1
This is such an interesting topic in this day and age. We have access to absolute everything to change the way we look. Does natural beauty exist anymore? There is a thin line between natural beauty, enhanced beauty, and fake beauty..Let me explain.
This is the difference (personally), Girls who wear mascara, eyeliner, wonderbras, tighter clothing, heels, TRACKS of weave( not full head, just couple tracks), botox etc are ENHANCING their beauty. It doesnt change them totally, it just makes them look better. These things can be removed and doesn’t make THAT much of a difference, but it makes us women feel alot better when we go out.
FAKE beauty is (to me anyway) concealer, foundation, bleaching, breast implants, false eyelashes, weave (full head, multicoloured shit on your head piece) etc…these things can change they way someone looks 100%…take them things away, and your left with someone unrecognisable!

Regarding to AIRBRUSHING…if your pic is not being used for publications (modelling, etc) then, why are you airbrushing? People don’t expect you to be perfect. If you only have airbrushed, photoshopped pics on your FB/ Myspace then i’m going to assume you are not that good looking. Your giving people a false representation of what you REALLY look like! (Check this SLU blog http://www.youtube.com/user/studentlinkuptv#p/a/u/1/QOR37SDKVHQ)
We live in an airbrushed world, with a false pretence on what females are supposed to look like. Ignore this! They do NOT really look like this! And Neither should we!
This is My favourite Advert ever! Just watch >
Ladies, we have to appreciate who we are, everyone has flaws, we’re NOT perfect. HOWEVER, if you are truely unhappy with how you look, and you feel reverting to the fake methods on beauty will make YOU feel better, then you do whatever you have to do. But Don’t change the way you look because SOMEONE ELSE has commented on how you look or because you feel you don’t look like them ladies in the magazines!
I am going to be touching up on the topic in the future! its such a big issue within todays media etc.
But Hold tight all my ladies who feel BEAUTIFUL, naturally, enhanced, or fake. IF you YOU feel good about yourself, then no one else’s opinion matters!
